CHRISTMAS came early for excited youngsters with The Principle Trust Children’s Charity.
The Principle Trust Children’s Charity held a Special Christmas Party, helped made possible by the Ilkley Christmas Teepees and Skipton Ford Christmas Gift Appeal.
Skipton based charity, The Principle Trust, who support underprivileged, disadvantaged and disabled children from across Yorkshire, by providing completely free respite breaks and holidays, held the Christmas event in order to give a little bit of festive joy to the children and their families who have gone through some very tough times.
A number of children, many living with life-limiting illnesses, disabilities, dealing with financial hardship, trauma or stress, were invited, along with their families, to the Ilkley Teepees to enjoy some festive celebrations, which included an opportunity to meet Santa himself!
Faces lit up, as children enjoyed toasting marshmallows ahead of a wonderful lunch kindly donated by Anthony Banks from The Ribble Valley Group, along with Dan Larkin of Bar Events UK, who operate and run the Teepees. With excitement brimming for Santa’s arrival, there was no disappointment, with each child receiving a specially picked gift which suited their age and interests.
Zoe Westerman, Marketing & Events Manager, The Principle Trust said “We know that the toys and gifts which have been donated make a huge difference to the children’s enjoyment of Christmas. It was wonderful to see so many smiling faces and to be able to provide the children and their families with more happy and cherished memories”.
The event was made possible with the support of various local businesses including the Ilkley Christmas Teepees, Pure Basement Systems, Skipton & Keighley Ford Dealerships, Rayne Drop Productions and BNI Network Ilkley.
