Westrow Hairdressing Group is celebrating their 35th year anniversary this year! With such a big milestone, you may be wondering… How did they celebrate?
The answer is a challenging, three-day charity walk, all in in aid of us at The Principle Trust Children’s Charity! Team Westrow took on a epic 70-mile walk, fabulously named ‘The Great Westrow Walk’ between the 24th June and the 26th June, Team Westrow took in all ten of their salons and the Academy.
We were lucky enough to wave them off and wish them good luck on Friday at their Skipton salon, before the team begun to Ilkley and then Bingley. Saturday brought more hard work, along with torrential rain, heading to Leeds at 7am to the West Park salon and finishing the day in Leeds at Street Lane. Lastly, the Sunday brought more members from Westrow to join in the walk as they marched on to Wetherby and the final stretch to Harrogate where they could celebrate. Going above and beyond, we’re honoured by the dedication from the whole team!
Westrow is an award-winning hairdressing group comprised of ten salons across Yorkshire and an educational academy located in Leeds City Centre. Established in 1987 by Co-Directors Steve Rowbottom and Marc Westerman, Westrow has won countless awards and are praised throughout Yorkshire for their brilliant service and talent as a hairdressing group. Creating beautiful hairstyles and pleasing customers throughout their salons, the Westrow team is bursting with talented and enthusiastic individuals.
Westrow and their co-founder Marc Westerman is already extremely encouraging and committed to support us alongside their Corporate Patronage. Westrow have shown us endless support in the past by taking part in other fundraisers such as the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge and the London Marathon.
This year, the Westrow Warriors aimed to raise £5,000 for The Great Westrow Walk and have already overtaken this target. A big thank you to donors and the team for raising £6800, that’s enough for almost 17 disadvantaged children and their families or carers to go on a weeklong holiday to have fun and enjoy new experiences!
Our charity is proud to support children and families throughout the Yorkshire region. We aim to improve the quality of life for children experiencing life limiting illnesses, disabilities, and special needs as well as children experiencing poverty or mental health issues. A holiday can be a special place to make memories that last and bring a smile to children who need it the most.
