Making a meaningful difference to children, by providing a holiday
The Principle Trust Children’s Charity was founded in 2011 by Mike Davies MBE. Mike’s motivation and desire to help children who are disadvantaged was driven by his own personal childhood experiences. At the young age of five, Mike unfortunately lost his mother to cancer, leaving his father to provide for himself and four children. Mike’s father had two daytime jobs which helped to pay for childcare, clothes, and food. They did not have a car or a TV and there were no family outings or holidays. Life was tough.
As time followed, Mike believed the time had come to develop a foundation that could support children who were experiencing and shared a similar childhood to himself, and with a group of employees from Principle Healthcare, The Principle Trust Children’s Charity was founded.

Reading and hearing the feedback after the holidays motivates us to provide more children, with more holidays.” Mike Davies, Founder, CEO and Chairman.
Originally, the children’s charity was formed to support disadvantaged children, however as time progressed, Mike wanted to help even more children. As part of a historical movement, The Principle Trust Children’s Charity introduced plans to begin supporting disabled children from across Yorkshire. Since then, the Charity has made available homes that include special adaptations to support the needs of disabled children, which provides for a more comfortable and relaxing holiday for both child and parent or carer.
Unlike so many other charities our 100% donations policy ensures every penny raised from events and marketing directly benefits children and their families.
