Where we support
The Principle Trust Children’s Charity supports children and families right across Yorkshire, reaching those who need us most in communities throughout the region.
We work with children facing a wide range of adverse childhood experiences, including mental health challenges, serious or life-limiting illnesses, disabilities, trauma, abuse, and financial hardship. For many of these families, the opportunity to take a holiday together is simply not possible, yet it’s often exactly what they need most.
Since 2011, we have supported almost 6,000 children and their families by providing free respite breaks designed to improve wellbeing, reduce stress, and create valuable time together. Every family’s situation is different, but the impact of a break is always meaningful, offering space to rest, reconnect, and make positive memories away from the pressures of daily life.
Our support extends across the whole of Yorkshire, and with the addition of our eighth respite home, we are now able to help over 300 families each year experience a much-needed break.
At our core, we are committed to making a lasting difference to children facing adversity, helping to improve quality of life, even if just for a short time, in a way that can have a lasting impact.
Thanks to our 100% donations policy, every pound raised goes directly towards supporting these families and making each respite break possible.
