We are thrilled to announce that Craig and Sam Perkins, the dynamic duo behind SAAIG Outdoors, have joined The Principle Trust as our newest charity patrons. This incredible couple from Ingleton is pledging their support to families across Yorkshire by aligning their thriving outdoor activities business with our mission to provide much-needed respite breaks for children who are underprivileged, disadvantaged, disabled, or facing life-limiting conditions.
Located just outside Ingleton, SAAIG Outdoors is known for its adventurous offerings, from rock climbing and abseiling to guided walks, winter mountaineering, and challenge events. Their business not only promotes physical activity but also mental well-being, values that resonate deeply with the work we do at The Principle Trust. The couple also owns and operates Dales Lodge, a serene 28-person accommodation, making them true champions of the great outdoors.
Craig Perkins, who brings his expertise as a Winter Mountain Leader, Running & Climbing Coach, was inspired to support our charity after hearing first-hand how transformative a short respite break can be for families facing daily challenges. His passion for making a difference doesn’t stop there—last year, Craig and Sam led the ‘Footsteps For Families’ challenge, raising over £2,000 for our cause. This long-distance walk across North Craven saw supporters collectively take 400,000 steps, symbolizing the number of children in Yorkshire living in poverty.
Looking ahead, Craig is already planning a 100k fundraising walk for 2025, with all proceeds going to further our mission of supporting disadvantaged families. We are incredibly grateful for their dedication and enthusiasm.
The Principle Trust Children’s Charity, founded in 2011 by Skipton businessman Mike Davies, MBE, has provided respite breaks for over 5,000 children across Yorkshire. Our work has been possible thanks to the generosity of supporters like Craig and Sam, who help us ensure that every penny raised goes directly to those who need it most.
Craig shared his excitement about their new role, stating, “As a family-run business committed to mental and physical well-being, we are delighted to support the work of The Principle Trust, helping some of our region’s most disadvantaged families to escape their daily troubles and create long-lasting happy memories.”
