We’re over the moon to share that Adam Edmondson, one of our incredible supporters, is taking on the monumental challenge of running the Arc of Attrition Ultra on 25th January 2025 to help Yorkshire’s most vulnerable children.
This is no ordinary race. The Arc of Attrition is a 50-mile ultra-marathon along the breathtaking yet demanding South West Coast Path. Starting in Porthcurno and finishing in Porthtowan, this iconic route winds around Cornwall’s southern coastline, taking in landmarks like Land’s End. With its rugged terrain, strict 15.5-hour time limit, and jaw-dropping views, this race is a true test of endurance and determination. Adam’s personal goal is to complete it in just 11 hours—an incredible feat!
What makes Adam’s journey even more remarkable is that he only began running in May 2023. In just a year, he’s gone from a beginner to completing the Pennine Barrier Ultra, a 50+ mile challenge across the Yorkshire Dales. Now, he’s lacing up his running shoes once more to support our charity.
Running for Respite
Adam is running to raise £1,000 for The Principle Trust Children’s Charity. This amount will provide two families with week-long respite holidays at our charity-owned lodges. These breaks offer a vital escape for children and families facing challenges such as poverty, trauma, disability, or illness.
For many, these breaks are more than a holiday—they’re a lifeline, providing relief from the daily struggles and creating precious memories that last a lifetime. Adam’s determination and kindness mean so much to us, and even more to the families he’s helping.
