Last week, community spirit and friendly competition filled the room as supporters, local businesses, and loyal patrons came together for The Principle Trust’s Big Ilkley Quiz, held at the Craiglands Hotel – a long-standing Patron of the Charity.
The energy in the room was incredible, with 20 enthusiastic teams battling it out through multiple quiz rounds, brain-teasers, and bonus challenges – all in support of children across Yorkshire facing adversity such as poverty, mental health challenges, disability, trauma or serious illness.
Thanks to the generosity of everyone involved, the evening raised an amazing £2,240 – enough to fund three full week-long respite breaks for local children and their families.

Why It Matters
Every penny raised helps us continue our mission: to give children across Yorkshire access to a free, week-long respite break, offering families relief, hope, and time to reconnect.
For some children, this is their first holiday, their first break from hospital appointments, or the first time experiencing joy without worry.
That is the difference nights like this make.
