This Easter, The Principle Trust Children’s Charity has been overwhelmed by the kindness and generosity of local businesses, helping to bring smiles to children and families staying in our respite homes.
We’re delighted to share that a total of 142 Easter eggs have been generously donated by Sisk, A59 Kex Gill Project Office, along with their contractors, Whitelocks in Gargrave. These thoughtful donations mean that every child staying in our eight respite homes over the Easter holidays will receive a special seasonal treat.
In total, 56 children will benefit directly from this wonderful gesture during their stay. The remaining eggs will be shared with our trusted Referring Partners, including IDAS North Yorkshire, so that even more children across the region can enjoy a little Easter joy.
We have also been incredibly grateful to receive further donations from Broadway House Chambers in Leeds and Bradford, who kindly donated 50 Easter eggs each. The chambers are celebrating their 100th anniversary by doing something for charity each month. This month they donated 100 Easter eggs to us. These have been distributed to Mind in Leeds and Mind in Hull & East Yorkshire, ensuring even more children supported by these organisations receive a thoughtful gift this Easter.
These simple acts of kindness can have a powerful impact. For many of the families we support, life can be incredibly challenging, and small gestures like this help create moments of happiness and normality for children who truly deserve it.

Since 2011, The Principle Trust Children’s Charity has supported almost 6,000 children through our respite homes in Blackpool, the Lake District and Filey. With eight homes now in operation, we are able to support around 308 families each year, providing free, week-long respite breaks to those facing mental health challenges, trauma, abuse, poverty, serious illness and disability.
This Easter, thanks to the generosity of our supporters, even more children will experience moments of joy, laughter and togetherness.
