Over the past seven days, something truly special has happened.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of our supporters, and the power of match funding, The Principle Trust Children’s Charity has raised an amazing £15,463 through the inaugural Big Give Small Charity Week campaign.
We simply couldn’t have achieved this without you.
Every person who donated, shared our campaign, encouraged friends and family to get involved or helped spread the word has played a part in this incredible achievement. Whether you gave £5 or £500, shared one of our social media posts or encouraged a colleague to donate, every act of kindness has helped us move closer to our mission of creating brighter futures for children and families across Yorkshire.
As we celebrate our 15th anniversary, our ambition was to raise £15,000 to support 25 children and their families facing adversity through free week-long respite breaks. The response from our community has been nothing short of overwhelming, and we are incredibly grateful to everyone who stood behind us.
Double the Difference
One of the most exciting aspects of this campaign was that every eligible donation was doubled, meaning every pound donated went twice as far.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Big Give for including The Principle Trust in this year’s Small Charity Week campaign and for shining a spotlight on the vital role small charities play within their communities.
Our heartfelt thanks also go to Postcode Neighbourhood Trust, whose generous match funding, made possible through the players of People’s Postcode Lottery, helped turn every donation into double the impact.
Their support has enabled us to reach even more children and families who need us most.
Why It Matters
Every day, we meet children across Yorkshire who are facing challenges such as poverty, trauma, abuse, disability, serious illness and mental health difficulties.
For many, a holiday together is simply beyond their reach.
The funds raised through this campaign will help us provide 25 week-long respite holidays, giving families the opportunity to step away from everyday pressures, reconnect, improve their wellbeing and create precious memories that will last a lifetime.
These aren’t just holidays.
They’re opportunities to laugh again, to relax, to rebuild family relationships and to remind children that brighter days are possible.
