What an incredible three days!
The Settle Victoria Hall Beer Festival 2026 has raised more than £14,000, with proceeds being shared between Settle Victoria Hall and The Principle Trust Children’s Charity.
From 6th–8th August, Settle Victoria Hall was once again filled with fantastic beer, live music and, most importantly, an amazing sense of community as people came together to enjoy this much-loved annual event while raising vital funds for two local causes.
Over £7,000 could enable seven children facing adversity to experience a free, week-long respite break with their family, including a food hamper to enjoy during their stay.
We support children across Yorkshire facing some of life’s toughest challenges, including mental health challenges, trauma, abuse, poverty, serious illness and disabilities.
A respite break gives children and their families the opportunity to step away from the pressures of everyday life and enjoy something many of us can take for granted – precious time together. Time to rest, reconnect, have fun and make memories that last.
Since The Principle Trust was founded by Mike Davies MBE in 2011, we have provided respite breaks for more than 6,300 children through our holiday homes in Blackpool, Filey and the Lake District.
A huge thank you to Rathbones
An event like this simply wouldn’t be possible without the generosity of the businesses that get behind it, and this year we were incredibly grateful to have Rathbones as our headline sponsor.
Their support for both the festival and The Principle Trust means a great deal to us.
Rathbones said:
“We are delighted to be headline sponsor the Settle Beer Festival and to continue with our support for The Principle Trust. The festival serves as a highlight in the area over the Summer with all proceeds going towards charities that do great local work.
“Working with local organisations like The Principle Trust is a priority for us as we look to invest in the communities we operate in. Our Leeds office is well established in Yorkshire, with the team well positioned to serve the full range of private individuals, business owners, families, advisers and charities – helping them plan and invest for the future.”
We’d also like to give a huge thank you to Walker Foster Solicitors, our programme and barrel sponsor, and to every one of the fantastic local businesses that sponsored a beer or cider barrel. Year after year, our local business community gets behind this event, and we’re incredibly grateful for that continued support.
Thank you to our amazing volunteers
Then there are the people who give something equally valuable, their time.
From setting up and welcoming guests to pouring pints, keeping everything running and clearing away afterwards, an incredible team of volunteers worked throughout the festival.
Their enthusiasm, hard work and good humour are a huge part of what makes the Settle Victoria Hall Beer Festival such a special community event. Thank you to every single person who volunteered, we couldn’t do it without you.
We must also recognise Tanya and Mark Wildsmith, founders of the Settle Victoria Hall Beer Festival, who continue to carefully select the range of beers each year, combining firm favourites with opportunities for visitors to discover breweries they may not have tried before.
Kerry Magson, Partnerships and Engagement Manager at The Principle Trust Children’s Charity, said:
“The Settle Victoria Hall Beer Festival is a brilliant example of the community spirit we have here in Settle, while also bringing people from further afield together to enjoy a great day out while supporting two brilliant local causes.
“We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who organised, attended, volunteered and supported the festival, and particularly to Rathbones for their generosity as our headline sponsor. To know that our share of the proceeds could give seven children facing adversity a week away with their families really puts into perspective what everyone has achieved together.”
Finally, thank you to everyone who came through the doors and bought a pint (or two!). Every beer enjoyed, every barrel sponsored and every hour volunteered contributed to that fantastic £14,000+ total.
What a brilliant example of what can happen when a community comes together. From everyone at The Principle Trust, thank you for helping us make memories that last.
