Ilkley Carnival Duck Race

The Principle Trust brought the Duck Race back to Ilkley Carnival this Bank Holiday Monday and launched 3000 rubber ducks off New Brook Street bridge into the River Wharfe.

Each duck had been bought for £1 and everyone was individually numbered.  The first 4 to cross the line were awarded cash prizes.

1st to cross the line won £100 and the winner, Derek Mason, has very kindly donated their winnings back to the charity!!

2nd Prize won £50. The winner was Isabel Driscoll.

3rd Prize won £30. The winner was jay from Ilkley Taxis.

and 4th prize won £20. The winner was Kate Penston from Fab-Lite who has also donated her winnings back to the charity!!

All winners have now been contacted.

The fun came after the 4 winners crossed the line when The Principle Trust team and volunteers from BNI Ilkley waded in to scoop them all out.

We’d like to say Thank You to Ilkley Carnival for letting us join in the fun.  Our stand on the carnival field was busy all day with everyone taking part in our Tombola and buying their ducks.

We raised a considerable amount which will all go back into the charity so we can continue to provide free holidays and respite breaks for Underprivileged, disadvantaged and disabled children from across Yorkshire.
