We’re thrilled to announce our participation and dedication paid off last Sunday at The Coniston Hotel’s Dragon Boat Race – organised by Skipton Rotary Club!
The day began at 8:00 sharp as we prepped for an action-packed day full of competition and determination. With a gazebo up, a coffee and bacon butty in hand, it was a quick safety briefing before everyone was eager to get into race with high spirits.
With the sun coming out midday, our teams, The Principle Trust and Skipton Properties, had high hopes – smashing through their own records with new techniques and determination.
Both teams made it to the semi-finals, and we cannot congratulate them enough for all of their hard work and this brilliant achievement.
Thank you to our team comprised of Principle Healthcare, Fowld’s Cooke Copywriting, Rachel’s Made To Measure, WS Stoneworks and Honeylegal as well as Matt Thomas, Calum McDade, Liam Gaunt and Michael Dalton and Katrina Otway – who all fundraised in honour of us here at The Principle Trust Children’s Charity.
And to Skipton Properties (with the code name Skipton Pop80’s!) who comprised their own team to get involved and raise funds for us! With a team complete with Dawn Cooper, Peter Coelho, Stephen Jolly, Pete McGregor, Wayne Lee, Adam Billingham, Jamie Drake, Adele Newiss, John Egan, and Colin Galeta – they even won the costume competition with their eighties theme!
Thus far, with combined efforts, a total of £4360 has been raised for our charity – this amount is enough to send almost 11 families on holiday!
All these proceeds will go towards providing children and there family free, weeklong holidays at our holiday homes in Blackpool and Lake Windermere. We reach children who are underprivileged, disadvantaged, disabled, have life-limiting conditions, or those who have experienced poverty, trauma, and abuse.
Holidays are a space to relax, have fun, and make memories that last. A safe bubble is something so valuable to families who need it the most.
