Our second-ever Charity Golf Day at Bradford Golf Club was a smashing success! Over 50 golfers braved the heat, demonstrating both their dedication and their swing in support of Yorkshire’s most vulnerable children. With plenty of friendly competition and a few golf puns thrown in for good measure, the day was truly ‘un-fore-gettable’.
We are delighted to share the results from our incredible golf day. Thanks to the participation of our 13 fantastic golf teams and generous sponsors, we raised an impressive £4,000. This incredible sum will enable eight families from Yorkshire with disadvantaged, disabled, and poorly children to escape their everyday struggles and create cherished memories together.
Adding to the joy, these families will also benefit from our ‘Food For Families’ initiative. This program tackles the financial burden of food poverty, ensuring that family holidays are possible for everyone. Supported by Morrisons with discounts and free delivery, ‘Food For Families’ is a testament to our commitment in supporting Yorkshire’s most disadvantaged families.
Congratulations to our top three teams:
- 3rd Place: Spartan Forklift Trucks
- 2nd Place: Otley Swingers
- 1st Place: BNI Network Central with players from Yorkshire Block Maintenance, 21 Degrees Digital, Exec Lets, and E J Woolfoot Ltd.
In addition to the golf, our event also featured a fun ‘foot-golf’ competition, coinciding with England’s second UEFA Euros 2024 match against Denmark. While England managed only a draw, our golfers showed impressive skill on the foot-golf course. A special shoutout to Ray Baybrook, who won the foot-golf competition—Gareth Southgate might need to call on your football skills soon!
Naturally, we gathered to watch the football before heading into the evening celebrations, which were hosted by the hilarious former professional rugby league player from Halifax, Lea Roberts. Lea, who rose to fame after winning the TV series “Stand Up Britain” in 2002, kept our guests entertained with his witty humor and lively personality.
