Leeds-based VLT Logistics, a leading warehousing and distribution company, has pledged its support to The Principle Trust Children’s Charity, helping disadvantaged families across the Yorkshire region. By becoming a patron of the charity, VLT is extending its commitment to giving back to the community, specifically to families and children facing significant hardships.
The Principle Trust Children’s Charity provides free week-long respite breaks to children who are underprivileged, disadvantaged, disabled, or suffering from life-limiting conditions. Many of these children come from families that have experienced poverty, trauma, or abuse. The charity offers these families a much-needed escape, allowing them to make cherished memories away from the challenges they face daily.
A Growing Force in Logistics
VLT Logistics, founded in 1996 by Vernon Land, has grown from a modest one-man operation to a multimillion-pound business. The firm, based at Leeds Bradford Airport Industrial Estate, now boasts a 500,000 sq ft warehouse and a fleet of 40 vehicles, providing distribution services to both national and international clients. Recently achieving ISO 14001 accreditation, VLT also takes pride in its commitment to environmental sustainability through internationally recognized environmental management systems.
Today, the company is led by Managing Director Andrew Land, Vernon’s son, and employs 65 staff. The family-run business has a long-standing reputation for excellence, making it a perfect partner for The Principle Trust in helping those in need across the region.

Mike Davies, MBE, who founded The Principle Trust in 2011, welcomed VLT Logistics’ decision to become a patron of the charity. Over the past 13 years, the charity has raised over £1.7m and provided respite breaks for more than 5,000 children from across Yorkshire. This new partnership with VLT further enhances the charity’s ability to support the growing number of families in need.
