Homes to Hope: Dacres’ Bingley to Leeds Charity Trek

At The Principle Trust, we are constantly humbled by the generosity and determination of local businesses who go the extra mile to support our mission. This October, a fantastic team from Dacre Son & Hartley, joined by colleagues from Simply Conveyancing, Mortgage Advice Bureau, and Kempston Parkes Surveyors, will quite literally be doing just that by going 16 miles extra!

On Thursday 9th October, this incredible group of 15 will set off from the iconic Five Rise Locks in Bingley, trekking along the stunning Leeds to Liverpool Canal before finishing at Granary Wharf in Leeds. Their goal? To raise vital funds for The Principle Trust Children’s Charity.

Why Their Support Matters

Every step the Dacres team takes will help us provide free week-long respite holidays for children across Yorkshire who face some of life’s toughest challenges, including:

  • Trauma or abuse

  • Poverty or disadvantage

  • Mental health issues

  • Serious illness or disabilities

These breaks are more than just a holiday, they are a lifeline. They give families the chance to heal, reconnect, and make joyful memories together, memories that can last a lifetime.

The Target: £3,000 to Fund Five Holidays

The team have set an ambitious target of £3,000, enough to fully fund five family holidays. That’s five families given the gift of time, space, and happiness away from their daily struggles and with your support, we can help them get there.

Because of our 100% donation policy every penny they raise will be used directly to support the children and families we help.

How You Can Help
