When a child experiences the unimaginable, healing can feel out of reach. For Reiley, the year since his mum’s tragic murder had been filled with sadness and isolation. His dad did everything possible to support him, but the weight of grief left them both struggling to find joy in daily life.
When the Three Nines Children’s Charity first spoke to Reiley’s dad, he admitted that a short break might help. A chance to step away from the memories at home. A pause to breathe. But like so many families referred to us, a holiday wasn’t something they could manage on their own.
Thanks to a referral from our friends at Three Nines Children’s Charity, Reiley and his dad were able to enjoy their very first holiday together, an experience that became a turning point for them both.

We are truly grateful to take a step back from the everyday life and struggles, look back and reflect on the past year, and most importantly create so many happy memories together.”
For Reiley’s dad, the break was more than a getaway – it was a lifeline:
“We honestly didn’t feel it was possible to find real enjoyment in our daily routine after everything, but this holiday showed us that happiness and quality family time are still possible. That smile on Reiley’s face was amazing for me to see and a huge change from how we have all been feeling.
