The Principle Trust Children’s Charity is delighted to share that more than £5,000 has been raised for vulnerable families across Yorkshire, following an unforgettable fundraising event in collaboration with Land Rover Experience North Yorkshire.
Held on Thursday 19th March at the stunning Broughton Hall Estate near Skipton, the day brought together teams from across the region for a unique blend of team building, networking and high-adrenaline driving challenges.
Hosted by Land Rover Experience Directors, Nick and Jonathan Rumboll, alongside their expert instructors, guests were put through their paces in a series of exciting activities. From geocaching challenges to precision-based off-road driving, the day tested teamwork, communication and skill, regardless of previous experience.
One of the highlights was the exhilarating vehicle gymkhana, where participants navigated tight, obstacle-filled courses in a fleet of cutting-edge vehicles, including the Land Rover Defender, Range Rover and Discovery. Accuracy, speed and strategy were key as teams competed for the top spot.
The day began with breakfast at The Bull at Broughton, setting the tone for a fantastic day ahead. After a morning of challenges, guests enjoyed a delicious lunch at the Land Rover Experience centre, courtesy of Palomino Pizza Co, before heading back out for an afternoon of action. The event concluded with a traditional pie and pea supper, followed by a prize-giving ceremony celebrating the day’s achievements.
This incredible event was made possible thanks to the generous support of Land Rover Experience North Yorkshire and The Bull at Broughton, with all entry fees donated directly to the charity.

Funds raised from the event will go directly towards providing free respite breaks for children and families facing some of life’s toughest challenges, including mental health difficulties, trauma, serious illness, disability and financial hardship.
Since its launch in 2011, The Principle Trust Children’s Charity has supported almost 6,000 children through its respite homes in Blackpool, the Lake District and Filey. With eight homes now in operation, the charity is able to support over 300 families each year—giving them the chance to step away from daily pressures, reconnect, and create lasting memories together.
Events like the Land Rover Experience Day play a vital role in making this work possible, combining meaningful fundraising with unforgettable experiences for those involved.
